Women in Investments Networking Event: Ardea Connect
Kaizen Recruitment had the pleasure to co-present with Ardea Investment Management, part of the larger Fidante Group and best known as a leading fixed-income fund manager last week at the Establishment Ballroom in Sydney.
The event had more than 200 female investment professionals in attendance with many more dialing in virtually for the panel discussion focused heavily on gender diversity in the Investment Management industry. The panel included Tracey Hunter, COO who spoke about the importance of role models and mentoring throughout her career and paving the way for future females in finance. Dr Laura Ryan shared her academic research on salaries and promotion rates of women within financial services, or lack thereof of females in the investment management industry.
Our Associate Directors, Amanda Chisholm and Jack Brown, shared their insights on gender diversity within financial services and what Kaizen Recruitment is doing to support our clients recruit females at all stages of their careers within the investment management industry. We accomplish this by our unwavering commitment to the industry we represent. We all belong and have memberships to Women in Super (WIS) we present to industry forums including Women in Investments, CFA Society and FINSIA and we proactively look to foster, enhance and develop those relationships with top-tier female professionals within the investment industry.
The relationship with Ardea initially began when Anna Price, Head of People and Culture, had read an article published by our COO Nupur Gill that covered diversity in financial services, including gender diversity, being driven by the organisation’s recruitment process. (A Diverse Workforce Starts With Diversity In Recruitment ). Kaizen has been a longstanding champion of diversity and inclusion and currently leads the industry in best practices and industry standards within our space. Ardea has been committed to changing and addressing this issue within their own organization and actively engaged Kaizen Recruitment two years ago to help deliver gender diversity to their organisation.
Conclusion
Kaizen Recruitment is one of the only recruitment firms that tracks and reports the females that we place in the industry, and we have been doing so for the past 6 years and are considered a leader and early adopter of this initiative.
One of our key success stories such as the partnership with Ardea has been supporting Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC) in achieving a highly sought-after 50% representation of females of investment staff across their organisation. Many of our clients are looking to achieve a similar result and we are here to support and partner with them to reach these goals.
