Project Resources – Superannuation And Insurance – Career Options And Salary Guide 2019
During my time in the superannuation and insurance industries, I’ve met and worked alongside many project resources. The destination of becoming a sought-after project resource can take many pathways.
For some, a career in project land begins without the intention of taking this pathway. Many professionals start off performing entry level administration, member service or analyst roles with an insurer or super fund. These roles provide a solid product, operational and system knowledge base as well as highlighting first-hand the direct impact their roles have on customer experience.
For others, the road taken is deliberate and more clearly defined from an early stage having taken on other analytical roles in project, product, research, data and testing environments. These roles provide the opportunity to gain exposure to reviewing operating procedures, reporting on quality indicators and then measuring compliance against regulatory or legislative standards.
Typical roles within the project landscape include transformation manager, program manager, project manager, implementation manager, change manger, scrum master, business analyst, test analyst, process analyst and project coordinator.

With the recent release of the Royal Commission findings, one underlying theme that can be guaranteed is the need for change. Project resources, in addition to governance, risk and compliance resources, will be high on the workplace planning strategy agendas for executive leadership teams and human resources management teams impacted by these findings.
