Kaizen Recruitment is proud to sponsor the upcoming Women in Finance event that forms part of FINSIA’s exciting calendar for 2019. The event will be held on Thursday 7 February from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
The evening offers a very impressive panel line-up of extremely talented industry leaders who will share their insights, experience and thoughts on their professional journey and how the finance industry can progress and accelerate change in diversity.

Ariane Barker, CEO of Scale Investors Ltd
Ariane has 20 years’ experience in blue chip financial services companies in senior executive management roles, having worked as General Manager of Products and Markets with JBWere at National Australia Bank in Melbourne, prior to that in capital markets roles with HSBC, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, in Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York and London. She brings great breadth, considered relationships, diversity of insight and perspective to strategic decision making as a result of her broad and varied experiences.
Siobhan Hennessy, Partner, PwC
Siobhan is a Partner in the PwC Financial Advisory Practice and specialises in Dispute resolution and forensic accounting. She has worked in Australia and the United Kingdom and focusses on the quantification of economic loss and financial investigations.
In addition to her experience in working for accounting professional services firms, she has also worked for a global law firm providing in-house litigation consulting services on financial and accounting issues. Prior to specialising in dispute resolution she was an auditor.
Siobhan has authored technical papers and presentations on Financial Skills for Lawyers, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Damages, the Role of the Expert and Conducting Effective Investigations.
Jane Hume, Liberal Party Senator
Jane Hume is a Liberal Party Senator from Victoria, having been election in July 2016.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Senator Hume completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne and later returned to gain further qualifications in Political Science. Senator Hume has a strong background in the financial services industry having held various senior positions which include, working for the National Australia Bank, Rothschild Australia, Deutsche Bank and, immediately prior to her election, as a Senior Policy Advisor at Australian Super. In addition to this Jane is the chair of the Blockchain government task force and the Federal Senate Economics and Finance Committee.
Senator Hume has also served on a number of boards including the Royal Children’s Hospital, Federation Square, and Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia.
In recognition of her extensive experience in corporate and philanthropic organisations, on entering the Senate she was immediately appointed as Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Economics (Legislation). She also serves on a number of other Senate and Joint Standing Committees, including Legal and Constitutional Affairs, Corporations and Financial Services, and NBN.
Senator Hume’s family are long standing Liberal Party members, and she joined them in the Armadale Branch of the Victorian Division in early 2003. She has held various roles within the Party, including Branch President and Secretary, delegate to State Assembly and State Council, and member of the Administration Committee. The Senator’s passion for female participation in politics saw her awarded the 2013 Couchman Scholarship by the Liberal Women’s Council, where she developed a formal mentoring programme aimed at equipping the next generation of female political leaders.
Outside of her career pursuits, Senator Hume enjoys swimming, reading, and most of all, spending time with her three children, Harry, Charlie, and Imogen.
Jenny Taing, Senior Associate, Vanguard Investments Australia Ltd
Jenny is Head of Product Implementation at Vanguard, one of the world’s largest investment management companies, responsible for launching all of Vanguard’s new funds and ETFs. Prior to this role, Jenny was an in- house lawyer at Vanguard and also spent 10 years at the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) where she worked on some of Australia’s largest reconstructions in the funds management industry.
Jenny is also a board director and currently sits on the board of Screen Australia, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Western Bulldogs Football Club Community Foundation. She is also a former board director of The Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital and served as a Commissioner of the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
Jenny was named in the Australian Financial Review 100 Women of Influence 2018 in the board and management category. She also won Government Lawyer of the Year 2017 and the University of Melbourne Faculty of Arts Rising Star Alumni Award 2014.
